The Book Catalog #18

Hi everyone! We’re in day three of The Book Catalog, and I’m unveiling book #18!

The book I’m about the reveal I feel is the one of my most underrated, which is Love No Limit. This was released during the pandemic, as a suprirse release on my birthday. The story was supposed to been part of an anthology, but due to creative differences, I decided to pull out of the project and released the story independently.

The story revolves around Kristina and Julian. After going through a breakup, Kristina decides to go out with friends to distract herself. While there, she meets Julian, the bartender, and they end up having a one-night stand. Kristina intended for it to be just that—a brief encounter—but she never anticipated that the roommate her friend suggested for her to stay with would actually be Julian. To complicate matters, she discovers that Julian is also her friend’s stepbrother. As they navigate living together, Kristina and Julian begin to develop feelings for each other that neither had expected.

"Love No Limit" is a short but delightful story that demonstrates how love can be found at unexpected times. I really enjoyed the development of the relationship between Kristina and Julian. Although they initially focused on the physical aspects of their connection, they later became friends before starting a romantic relationship. The story also illustrates that sometimes you have to take a risk on love, even after experiencing a few setbacks in the romance department. Most people can relate to the idea that we must navigate certain steps in life to achieve our desires. This is exactly what Kristina and Julian had to understand before they realized that love had been right in front of them all along.

The story also has a connection to another series of mine, “Love, Life, & Happiness”, in which the club that Julian works at is Phoenix Houston, which is the club that Marcus owns. Although in “Love No Limit”, Julian has left his bartending job to work for Jaxson and Morgan, in another book from the LL&H universe, “Only You”, Julian is working there part-time, so you may be seeing Kristina and Julian again in my latest LL&H spin-off, which will be released in 2025.

If you haven't read “Love No Limit”, it's only available on Amazon. You can also read it for free with Kindle Unlimited.

Here’s an excerpt of the story, which is the moment Kristina meets Julian. Enjoy!

Kristina started walking towards downstairs, needing some time to herself. A part of her did want to go home, but she said she wanted to have some fun, so she was going to see it through. She went to the bar to see it was nearly packed. She glanced over to see only one bartender at the bar. She waited patiently as the guy kept giving drinks, but at not one point did he look in her direction.

“Excuse me. Excuse me.”

The guy continued to ignore her, as she took a deep breath. She knew he wasn’t doing it intentionally, but she had been standing there for a bit now, so he should have taken notice by now.

He finished a drink for the person beside her as he handed it to her. He looked at Kristina and smiled. “I’m sorry, I’m swamped back here. Normally, there’s someone with me, but he called in sick and the owner, Marcus, had to be at home tonight.”

She stared at the guy, completely forgetting about the delay. She couldn’t take her eyes off of his since they were clear blue, just like the ocean.

“Did you want to order?”

Kristina shook her head and smiled.

“Yeah, sorry. I’ll take a vodka shot, please.”

“Oh, you’re going for the strong stuff. I wouldn’t have thought that.”

“Why?”

“You look more like a fruity drink type of girl. Maybe Sex on the Beach.”

Kristina smirked, and he smiled.

“I’m just playing. I’ll get your shot in the second.”

She stared at him, looking at his physique. His arms flexed as he grabbed the vodka bottle from behind the counter. She stared at his lips, as he gave a crooked smile before coming to her.

“Here you go,” he said and grinned.

His dark brown hair glistened under the club light as his eyes lowered at her lips. Kristina had to admit, he looked good. Damn good.

“What’s your name?” he asked. “Kristina.”

“Julian. It’s nice to meet you.”

“Likewise. Shouldn’t you be working instead of talking to me?”

“I’m just giving you your drink.”

“Yet, you haven’t stopped talking to me since you took my order.”

“I guess because I was a bit rude earlier.”

“I wouldn’t say that you were.”

He smiled when someone was trying to get his attention. He told her not to go anywhere before taking their order. Kristina stared at him, completely mesmerized by him. She didn’t know why, but there was something about him that she hoped she could know more about. Once he was done, he came back to her and smiled.

“I know you’re not here by yourself. Are you with friends or your boyfriend?”

“I hardly doubt if I would come to the club with my man.”

“A lot of people do.”

“That’s something I wouldn’t do. Besides, if I had a man, I definitely wouldn’t be here.”

“I’m sure you would be doing other things, huh?”

Kristina blushed, and Julian smiled. “Ahhh, I made you blush. You looked cute.”

“I’m here with friends, though.”

“Maybe you and me can do something once I get off. I’m sort of new to the area, so I don’t have too many friends. Maybe you can help me with that.”

“And what could we possibly do at 2 in the morning?”

“Technically, it’ll be 3 when I get off, and there are a lot of things we can do at that time.” “I’m sure that doesn’t require clothing.”

“It could, but that’s not what I’m talking about. But, what do you say? You want to?”

“I don’t have a problem meeting up when it’s daylight.”

“More likely, I’ll be asleep. If you don’t want to, then just say so. I won’t get upset about it.”

Kristina smiled. “Only if we do something that doesn’t require nudity; then, I’m cool.”

He smiled. “Cool. You can meet me at the front of the building. Did you ride here alone or-”

“Don’t worry about how I got here. And I’ll meet you at the destination. You can’t trust people nowadays.”

“You’re right, but if you didn’t trust me, then you wouldn’t be going out with me at 3 in the morning, right?”

“Touché.”

“Let me get your number because I have to get back to work.”

The two exchanged phones and got each other’s number before Julian went back to work.

Kristina stared at the number in her phone, not sure what she’d just gotten herself into, but she was excited to find out.

Check back tomorrow, as book #17 is revealed.

Until then, happy reading! :-)
