Here is chapter 4 from LLH: Book 2. I have to admit, I did a complete 180 with Marcus in Trust Me, because he is the complete opposite in this story, lol!
After his morning class, Shawn headed over to Channel 2 studios for his internship. He was nervous, but also excited to see what the department had in store for him to do. He pretty sure it would be running errands and fetching coffee, but he didn’t mind since he would be working at an actual news station.
Once he went inside the studio, he was greeted by Steve, who was the producer.
“Welcome, Shawn. I know this is pretty exciting.”
“Definitely.”
“Before we get started, I would like for you to meet the other intern that you’ll be working with.” Steve said, walking over to the production booth.
“Dominique, I would like for you to meet Shawn Walker; he’s the other intern I was mentioning to you about. Shawn, this is Dominique Watkins. I don’t know if you two know each other since you both go to Shaw.”
“No.” Shawn said.
“Shaw is a big campus, so it’s common to not know everyone.” Dominique said.
Steve smiled.
“Okay, well why don’t you two chat for a bit while I get everything set-up for today’s newscast. I’ll come back once I have everything going.”
“Sure.” the two said.
Dominique looked at Shawn, giving him a sexy smile.
“Why haven’t I seen you around campus?”
“Like you said, Shaw is a big campus.”
“What year are you?” Dominique asked.
“Junior. And you?”
“The same. Maybe we have seen each other. I’m pretty sure we had classes together since we’re in the same major.”
“Maybe so.”
“Do you have a girlfriend?”
Shawn smiled.
“Aren’t you a little forward?”
“Sorry. I’m normally not, but I had to ask. I’m pretty sure you do. I mean, look at you.”
“What does that supposed to mean?”
“You’re hot, Shawn, and don’t deny that you’re not.”
He glanced at her, not sure what to think of her straightforwardness. Sure, Dominique is beautiful, but there would not be anything between them but a professional relationship.
I’m too much in love with Ri to mess up what we have.
“Based on the look you gave me, you do. Let me guess, she’s a journalism major.”
“Yeah, but we met at a club.”
“I’m sure it was love at first sight.”
“For me it was, but for her, it had to take some convincing.”
“She a lucky woman.” Dominique said.
“It’s hard to imagine you’re single. You’re gorgeous.”
Dominique blushed.
“Thank you. Actually, I just ended a relationship with someone a week ago. We both were going to different schools, which was pretty hard for both of us. Sure, the summer was wonderful since we were able to see each other constantly, but once it came to go back to college, we couldn’t handle the distance, so I felt it was best to end it.”
“I bet that was pretty rough to do.”
“It was, but we’re still friends, which is great.”
The two glanced at each other when Steve walked back inside the booth.
“Okay, I have everything going, so why don’t I give you two a tour.”
“Sure.” Shawn said, quickly walking behind Steve. He didn’t know what to make of the look he shared with Dominique. Whatever it was, it can’t happen again.

Before heading to her afternoon class, Riana met up with Britney at Patrick’s so the two could hang out with Cheryl on her break. She walked in, seeing that the place was packed as she went towards the back of the restaurant. She headed straight over to Britney, who was sitting in a booth.
“Hey. I’m glad you were able to find a booth. It’s packed in here.” she said, sitting down.
“Luck has it that someone was leaving when I came in. But I asked Marcus to meet us here, if that’s okay?”
“Sure, it’s fine.” Riana said, trying hard not to look disappointed. After what happened earlier, she did not want to face him.
Marcus walked over to them, going to the space next to Britney.
“Hey.” he said, giving her a kiss.
“Hey, Ri.”
“Hey, Marcus.” Riana said, looking towards the exit.
“I’m glad I was able to squeeze in a moment to see you. I know you have to go to work soon.” Britney said.
“Yeah, but we could always meet up after my shift is over.”
“I would love that.” she said, giving him a kiss.
Riana looked at the two, wondering if she was going to be sick. They were too affectionate which made her wondered if that’s how she wanted to be with Marcus. She watched how his arm was around Britney, the way he was snuggled against her. A vision of how he would be kissing and touching her flashed through her mind. She quickly shook her head as she picked up a napkin from the dispenser.
“I’ll be back. Have to go to the restroom.” Britney said.
Marcus moved from the booth to let Britney out. She smiled and walked towards the corner.
He glanced at Riana, who was tearing the napkin in tiny pieces.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, just needed something to do.” she said, putting the tattered pieces in a pile.
“I noticed the look you had on your face earlier. Are you jealous of Britney and me?”
Riana laughed.
“Of course not. Why would you think that?”
“Don’t lie, Ri. You probably were wishing it was you that I was touching, were you?”
“You really think you know me, do you? If you must know, I think you and Britney make a great couple.”
“Are you sure? I believe you were thinking the complete opposite. I know you probably do think about me, because I do with you.”
“You seriously need to stop having these types of conversations with me.”
“I’m pretty sure you’re thinking how much you want to kiss me right now, because I always wanted to with you.”
He leaned in closer as he stared into Riana’s eyes.
“Every time I see you with Shawn, I wonder how your body feels close to mine; those gorgeous legs wrapped around me as I kissed your entire body.” he whispered, touching Riana’s shoulder, which sent a shiver through her.
“What about Britney?”
“Britney is great, but she’s not you.” he said.
Riana stared at Marcus as someone cleared their throat.
The two looked up and realized Cheryl was standing in front of their table.
“Am I interrupting something?” she asked.
Riana closed her eyes, wondering how she was going to be able to explain this situation.
