LLH: Book 2 Chapter 13

Hi everyone!! Chapter 13 is now up. Chapter 14 will be available tomorrow!

Cheryl stared out the window of Devin’s Nissan Maxima, taking in everything that has happened tonight. Once she was able to relax, she actually had a great time with him. She looked over at him, who had one hand on the steering wheel and his body was leaned back, which made her feel a little hot. She looked away from him and continued to stare out the window.

“Did you have a good night?” he asked.

She slowly turned to him.

“Yeah, I did.”

“I told you dancing would relax you.” he said.

“It did, actually.”

They reached her apartment and he turned off the ignition.

“I meant what I said earlier. I really am attractive to you, Cheryl.”

“I know, but nothing will happen between us. I have…”

“I know, so before I do something stupid, here’s what you been asking for.”

He pulled out a bag filled with white pills, which made Cheryl very happy.

“I should warn you that you should only take a half pill for now and gradually go to one; that way your body will adjust.”

“I know. Thank you, Devin.”

“You’re welcome.”

She leaned toward him and gave him a quick hug. She tried to pull away, but he wouldn’t let her. He stared at her, pulling her face to his and gave her a slow kiss. She began to feel warm inside and her toes began to curl at the feel of his touch. He put his hand in her hair, pulling her closer to him. She didn’t know what she was doing at that moment, but her body wanted Devin to rip off her clothes and pleasure her in the worse way. She tried not to think about him in any way but her lab partner, but she can’t deny her feelings anymore. She was attracted to him, which made her relationship with him and with Chris even more complicated.

They pulled away from each other, staring into each other’s eyes when there was a loud tap on the window. Cheryl looked over and saw Chris standing by her door, giving the two a fiery look.

“Get out of the car. Now!” he yelled.

Cheryl looked from Devin to Chris, not knowing what the hell she should do.

*** After what happened with Marcus, Riana decided to call it a night with bowling. Once she told Shawn she was ready to go, he was concern, asking if she was okay. She glanced over at Marcus, who gave her a concerned look as well. She knew after what they shared, she couldn’t be around him anymore. She has to stay as far away from him as possible.

She looked over at the lane where Dominique and her friends were playing. She looked up at her, who cut her eyes and continued talking. She has been staring at her since she came back from the restroom. She shouldn’t think anything of it, but the expression she was giving her had her a bit on the edge.

When they returned back to her place, Riana immediately went to her bedroom and lay down on the bed. Shawn followed her and sat down beside her.

“Are you sure you’re okay? You’re not sick are you?”

“No, I’m fine. I guess I’m a little tired.”

“Oh, well maybe I should leave so you can rest.”

“No, please don’t leave.” she said. She pulled Shawn toward her so he could lay beside her.

“Okay.” he said. He glanced at her, running a finger down her shoulder.

“I wasn’t going to say anything, but I noticed you and Marcus were both gone at the same time. I was going to look for you when I saw the both of you coming back minutes apart from each other.”

Riana gave a nervous glance at Shawn.

“What are you trying to say?”

“I’ve noticed some stuff between you two when I’m around. You both seem so awkward around each other. Even during winter break, I noticed Marcus has been kind of eying you, but I just didn’t say anything.”

“Really.” Riana said softly.

“I know what I’m about to ask is crazy, but is something going on between you two?”

Riana sat up, feeling completely sick. Shawn could not have figured things out this quickly. If he did, then her and Marcus were obvious to their feelings around everyone.

“Why would you think that?”

“I don’t know; after the incident here, you been jumpy and he’s been hesitant to be around me. It’s like you two don’t want to be in the same room together.”

“I am still embarrassed about what happened.” she said.

“Which you shouldn’t be. It was an accident, plain and simple.”

“I know, but it was weird seeing him like that.”

“Baby, as long as there are no feelings there, then you have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. So stop beating yourself up about it, okay.”

Riana nodded and Shawn kissed her forehead.

“I think we both need to get some sleep since we have a full day tomorrow.” he said.

“I agree.” she said.

He kissed her again before turning the lamp off on his side of the bed. He held her, which made the tears she was holding in come down her cheeks. There was so much that was going through her mind that she didn’t know what to do. She has to find a way to resolve everything that was happening. If she doesn’t, she would lose everyone that meant the world to her.
