I originally wrote this post back in January, when Love Unbroken was recently released, but I decided not to post it, until now. The reason being is because I didn’t know whether it would receive a positive reaction; but I really want to get readers’ opinions on this, so I decided to publish the post. So, here it is…
As an author, I know I’m not always going to get positive reviews. There are going to be some readers who will not like my work, so that’s not an issue. In fact, sometimes a negative review can be a great way for me to know my mistakes and correct them accordingly for my next book. With this issue, I’m not sure if I should even discuss it, but I guess I will.
There were a couple of comments from readers stating how much sex Riana and Shawn were having in the story. If anyone who read any of my previous books, you would know that this is the first book that featured love scenes, and to be honest, I was hesitant in even writing them. Now, I didn’t think this would cause such a huge issue, considering that is something two people do when they are in love. I don’t know if the issue is because they are college students (who are adults), or because of the nature of the scenes.
If anyone ever read a New Adult novel, you would know that majority of those books will have sex scenes, so I’m not sure why some would feel upset that there were so much included. Now, maybe I did put in a lot of scenes, I don’t know, but I believe it didn’t take away from the story and the love they had for each other. They’re attracted to each other and in love with each other. What’s wrong with that?
All in all, people are entitled to their own opinions, so I will leave it at that. For anyone who has read Love Unbroken, please tell me what you think. Were there a lot of scenes between Riana and Shawn that were a bit unnecessary, or were the story just right? For me, it was, but I would love to hear from you all regarding the story.
Also, I hope I’m not offending anyone with this post. I truly appreciate everyone who spend their hard earned money to purchase and read my books (I’m also an avid reader, so I completely understand).
Until then, happy reading!!
